Sports graphics for WKRG and personal projects.
Some of the many monitor graphics I've made at WKRG.
H.M.S. Pinafore is a comedic operetta, so I animated fun watercolor illustrations to emulate a stage behind Cherish and Dr. Rowell. I used this motif for the interview's VO and fullscreen and topped it all off with a custom curtain call transition.
Open animation for "True Crime with Summer Poole" created in After Effects.
I designed these infographics in Photoshop, then brought all the elements into After Effects to animate and time them to the script. Had to collaborate with the producer, director, and anchor for the finished product. The timing was the most difficult part, but I think it came together rather well on air.
For WKRG's Your Hometown series, I created the logo, monitor graphics, animations, live boxes, and lower thirds. This video includes just a few examples of all the graphics, including my favorite, the "pin drop" animated transition. Jim McLean of WKRG Marketing created the original pin animation. I combined it with my logo and the postcard background and masked out the center of the pin to create a fun transition.
For this story, I created all of the graphics and animations. Simone Eli won the ABBY award for "Best in Broadcasting 2024 – Sports Reporting" from the Alabama Broadcasters Association for this story!
I created the looping monitor graphic seen behind Jonathan Young. Photographer Lee Atherton set up the amazing shot!
I got to do something a little different for this project. I painted John Nodar on a pumpkin for "Scarecrows in the Gardens" at Bellingrath Gardens & Home, and then appeared on the Red Couch with John and Bill to talk about my painting!
